This course is open to all sworn or non-sworn Law Enforcement staff, medical first responders, or related public service agency personnel. Presented through a combination of classroom lecture and practical exercises, this 2-hour course will provide personnel with principles and techniques that will help them in daily patrol activities. Legal duties regarding handling suspects/arrestees in times of physical distress with an emphasis on recognition of medical emergencies and proper response to them. Topics covered will include:

• Likely Symptoms Encountered
• Suicidal Suspects
• Emergency Situations
