This course is open to all sworn or non-sworn Detention Center staff, medical first responders, or related public service agency personnel.

Presented through a combination of classroom lecture and practical exercises, this 2-hour course will provide students with materials that will help them understand the risks surrounding constant interaction with inmates, giving them the tools to prevent Inmate Con Games, and suggestions on how to handle common inmate manipulations. The Prison Rape Elimination Act will be discussed in detail to include what prohibitions are outlined and legal ramifications if not strictly followed.
