ACRON/Basics in control Restraints and Searching

This course is open to all sworn Patrol and Detention personnel in both Sheriff’s Offices and Police Departments.

Attendees can expect a hands-on learning environment to include discussion and training where application of laws will be attached directly to real life use of force training. Current case laws will be reviewed, with each discipline instructed. Attendees will be training using force techniques demonstrated and will demonstrate competencies through observed physical interactions with fellow students. The following will be specifically covered:

  • Graham v Conner
  • Idaho Code 19-610
  • Kopec v. Tate
  • Idaho Code 19-602
  • ARCON Techniques

Attendees will need to be in attire conducive to rolling on mats, being taken down in training exercises and restrained. Bring your regular duty equipment.

This course has been approved for 4 hours of POST training credit.

Chad served 23 years in Idaho law enforcement. As a commander, he achieved Advanced Patrol and Level III Detention certificates. At ICRMP, Chad trains law enforcement personnel with the highest level POST-certified training available to law enforcement and offers 30 state-wide certified classes. He also assists agencies in developing their own certified training departments.
