DESCRIPTION:Detailed Course Information: Link \nThis course is open to all sworn Detention and Patrol staff. \nPresented through a combination of classroom lecture and practical exercises\, this 4-hour course will provide students with an advanced review of report fundamentals for both proper documentation of officer activities and when submissions are needed for court proceedings. This presentation includes what to document in the event of a jail death\, high-risk use of force and documentation needed should a case be brought against an agency in Federal Court. \nTopics covered will include: \n\nConstitutional Law\nI.C. surrounding documentation\nResponse to volatile situations\nBrady vs Maryland\nDeputy activities at the scene\nCivil Liability\n\nAttendees for this class should plan on reviewing real life use of force events and practicing of handwritten documentation drills to denote what is viewed during the events reviewed. \nThis course has been approved for 4 hours of POST training credit. \n\n		\n			\n				\n			\n			\n		 \n		\n			Chad served 23 years in Idaho law enforcement. As a commander\, he achieved Advanced Patrol and Level III Detention certificates. At ICRMP\, Chad trains law enforcement personnel with the highest level POST-certified training available to law enforcement and offers 30 state-wide certified classes. He also assists agencies in developing their own certified training departments.
