DESCRIPTION:Detailed Course Information: Link \nThis course is open to all sworn or non-sworn juvenile detention/probation staff\, medical first responders\, or related public service agency personnel. \nPresented through a combination of classroom lecture and practical exercises\, this 2-hour course will provide attendees with principles and techniques that will help them interact with juvenile offenders in both custody and public settings. Legal duties regarding supervision will be discussed with an emphasis on recognition of medical emergencies and proper response to them. \nTopics covered will include: \n\nDeliberate Indifference\nEstelle Decision\nConstitutional Law\nIdaho Codes\nMedical emergencies\nLikely symptoms encountered\nSuicidal inmates\nEmergency transportation\n\nThis course has been approved for 2 hours of POST training credit. \nFor more information or to register\, please contact Chad Sarmento @ csarmento@icrmp.org \n\n		\n			\n				\n			\n			\n		 \n		\n			Chad served 23 years in Idaho law enforcement. As a commander\, he achieved Advanced Patrol and Level III Detention certificates. At ICRMP\, Chad trains law enforcement personnel with the highest level POST-certified training available to law enforcement and offers 30 state-wide certified classes. He also assists agencies in developing their own certified training departments.
