DESCRIPTION:Detailed Course Information: Link \nThis course is open to all sworn or non-sworn Detention Center staff\, medical first responders\, or related public service agency personnel. \nPresented through a combination of classroom lecture and practical exercises\, this 2-hour course will provide students with materials that will help them understand the risks surrounding constant interaction with inmates and prohibited conduct with incarcerated individuals. The Prison Rape Elimination Act will be discussed in detail to include what prohibitions are outlined and legal ramifications if not strictly followed. \nTopics covered will include: \n\nInmate protections\nDeputy conduct\nHigh risk situations\nProper documentation\nHigh risk inmate populations\nPersonal awareness\nPREA\nIdaho Code 18-6110\n\nThis is one of the popular classes for both new detention center staff\, and those that have been working for many years. As a commander\, he achieved Advanced Patrol and Level III Detention certificates. At ICRMP\, Chad trains law enforcement personnel with the highest level POST-certified training available to law enforcement and offers 30 state-wide certified classes. He also assists agencies in developing their own certified training departments.
