DESCRIPTION:Detailed Course Information: Link \nThis course is open to all sworn or non-sworn patrol staff\, medical first responders\, or related public service agency personnel. \nPresented through a combination of classroom lecture and practical exercises\, this 4-hour course will provide students with principles and techniques that will help them supervise inmate populations. Legal duties regarding inmate supervision will be discussed with an emphasis on recognition of medical emergencies and proper response to them. \nTopics covered will include: \n\nDeliberate Indifference\nEstelle Decision\nConstitutional Law\nIdaho Codes\nMedical emergencies\nLikely symptoms encountered\nSuicidal inmates\nEmergency transportation\n\nThis is one of the popular classes for both new jail staff members\, and those that that support them through dispatch services. As a commander\, he achieved Advanced Patrol and Level III Detention certificates. He also assists agencies in developing their own certified training departments.
