DESCRIPTION:Detailed Course Information: Link \nThis course is open to all sworn or non-sworn Law Enforcement staff\, medical first responders\, or related public service agency personnel. Presented through a combination of classroom lecture and practical exercises\, this 2-hour course will provide personnel with principles and techniques that will help them in daily patrol activities. Legal duties regarding handling suspects/arrestees in times of physical distress with an emphasis on recognition of medical emergencies and proper response to them. Topics covered will include: \n\nDeliberate Indifference\nEstelle Decision\nConstitutional Law\nIdaho Codes\nMedical Emergencies\nLikely Symptoms Encountered\nSuicidal Suspects\nEmergency Situations\n\nThis course has been approved for 2 hours of POST training credit.
