DESCRIPTION:Detailed Course Information: Link \nThis course is open to all sworn or non-sworn patrol staff\, medical first responders\, or related public service agency personnel. \nPresented through a combination of classroom lecture and practical exercises\, this 2-hour course will provide students with principles and techniques that will help them supervise inmate populations. Legal duties regarding inmate supervision will be discussed with an emphasis on recognition of medical emergencies and proper response to them. \nTopics covered will include: \n\nDeliberate Indifference\nEstelle Decision\nConstitutional Law\nIdaho Codes\nMedical emergencies\nLikely symptoms encountered\nSuicidal inmates\nEmergency transportation\n\nThis is one of the popular classes for both new patrol staff members\, and those that have been working for many years. DESCRIPTION:Detailed Course Information: Link \nThis course is open to all sworn Patrol and Detention personnel in both Sheriff’s Offices and Police Departments. \nAttendees can expect a hands-on learning environment to include discussion and training where application of laws will be attached directly to real life use of force training. Current case laws will be reviewed\, with each discipline instructed. Attendees will be training using force techniques demonstrated and will demonstrate competencies through observed physical interactions with fellow students. \nThe following will be specifically covered: \n\nGraham v Conner\nIdaho Code 19-601\nIdaho Code 19-602\nIdaho Code 19-610\nARCON Techniques\n\nAttendees will need to be in attire conducive to rolling on mats\, being taken down in training exercises and restrained.
